With the launch of their first collection this past season, Los Angeles-based brand Elkin has quickly become a favorite new label of mine. Sisters Brit and Kara Smith really stole my heart by using specific literary genres as inspiration for their collections– the first being Gothic Romance. Their latest line, which they managed to make look both rugged and cute, for Spring 2012 is inspired by American Folklore and the women of early American brothels. Check out the video for their Spring ’12 lookbook, which features Z Berg of The Like and my last post, below.

The really cute tag (I’m a total sucker for cool, nifty gimmicks)  that came with a jacket I purchased from their last collection. Also, in conjunction with the HOPE Campaign, for every piece sold, they donate a book to a child in need. How nice.

Bonus: The Like- “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/He’s Not a Boy”
